The North American Aviation P-51 Mustang is an American long-range, single-seat fighter and fighter-bomber used during World War II and the Korean War, among other conflicts. The Mustang was designed in 1940 by North American Aviation (NAA) in response to a requirement of the British Purchasing Commission. The D model Mustang with the bubble canopy is by far the most famous version of this U.S. fighter aircraft. Powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin V-12 engine the aircraft was unrivalled as a bomber escort.

This kit features fully engraved panel lines and rivet details. It has a detailed cockpit and landing gear. There are two types of drop tanks included – 110 gallon and 75 gallon. There is an accurately reproduced 4- bladed propeller and spinner assembly.

The included decals are the standard USAF as well as a second decal sheet with RAAF insignias.

The completed kit measures 132 mm long, 156 mm wide and 54 mm tall. There are 54 parts included.
